- Design: SMFK Sculptural Handcrafted Derby Shoes, based on the traditional derby shoe, re-establish geometric proportions through a wide square toe and irregular, three-dimensional upper. The toe is formed by straight edges and slightly tapered sides, with horsehide creases in the forefoot extending naturally from the lacing area towards the toe, like sculpted facets formed by compression; misaligned seams further enhance the architectural structure of the upper. The grey horsehide is hand-washed and distressed, with the leather surface displaying charcoal gray hues, natural scratches, and a subtle sheen against a dark grey base. The Goodyear welt construction forms a clear sole outline, paired with a 35mm low heel, highlighting the horizontal proportions of the square toe and a stable center of gravity, transforming traditional shoemaking craftsmanship into a restrained yet artistic avant-garde shoe shape.
